The F.A.M.E. official symbol (seen above) is a stylized reminiscence of the comet's crash into the moon, the event that granted most of the powered individuals their amazing abilities and changed the world forever, for good or for ill.

The Fellowship Alliance for Metahuman Equity (F.A.M.E.) is less the civil-rights group that one might expect from the name and more an umbrella organization for the purposes of networking, resource-sharing, and coordination between those that consider themselves 'superheroes' - or, at least, those metahumans and skilled normals who spend their time and energy to fight crime, evil, and generally try and prevent the worse behavior of metahumanity and protect the innocent. Their stated goal is to keep society from turning upon metahumanity as a whole, by behaving protectively and positively, and doing what they can to protect that self-same society. Anyone is welcome as a member so long as they hold to these motives and are vouched for by another member in good standing.

In its early days, the organization was rather informal, with meetings occasionally held at the S.S. Charlotte, a yacht owned by Karen Webb - aka Epiphany. Over time, the group has evolved into a more stable organization with a communal base of operations accessable to all members, disguised as a perfectly ordinary warehouse tucked into a little-traveled corner of Barrows Industrial Park.

The current chairman is the man who originally sparked the organization's birth, Travis Travaglini III, aka Thermite. His identity is widely known amongst the membership.

Charter of the Fellowship Alliance for Metahuman Equity

We, the gathered metahumans and affiliates of Port Liberty and the surrounding area, have joined together in determination of and support for the following goals.

  • The fair and equitable treatment of metahumans by society at large, and the legal system in specific.
  • The use of the gifts and powers granted to us - whether by the Crucible or other means - for the betterment of the world at large.
  • The protection of the city and environs of Port Liberty specifically, and the world in general, from those who would misuse their gifts and powers to the detriment of others.

In this, we have resolved to combine our efforts to accomplish these aims, and stand united.

Accordingly, we have agreed to this charter and do hereby establish an organization to be known as the Fellowship Alliance for Metahuman Equity.

Charter Rules

I. The Fellowship Alliance for Metahuman Equity (to be hereafter referred to as FAME, or 'the organization') is to be directed by the chairman, whose job it is to ensure the well-being of the organization guided by this charter and to address any breaches of protocol or conduct by charter members. The chairman can leave the position at any time willingly, and can pass on the seat to a successor. In the case of the chairman's untimely death, a replacement can be elected by a two-thirds majority vote.

II. Membership is open to all vigilante and/or metahuman individuals willing to follow the ideals and guidelines of this charter, and who are vouched for by at least one member in good standing, with the exception of active members of any law-enforcement or military organization (police, FBI, CIA, Army, et cetera). The chairman may veto membership to those who he feels may be detrimental to the unity of the organization, or a possible security threat. Chairman's Note: It is hoped that the security measure prohibiting law-enforcement and military members of the organization may be altered once legal opinion is less hostile to our organization. Those who became members prior to the adoption of this charter are hereby grandfathered into the organization despite this limitation.

III. Charter members have the freedom to depart the charter at any time, removing themself from all benefits and responsibilities accorded such members.

IV. Charter members are prohibited from using excessive and/or unnecessary lethal force in the course of their activities; any such incidents, whether perpetrated upon civilians or metahumans, whether purposeful or accidental, will be fully investigated, and penalties may be levvied based on the discoveries of this investigation, up to and including expulsion from FAME and forced surrender to the authorities, at the decision of the chairman.

V. The physical or mental violation of any individual (i.e. rape, memory-alteration, and similar offenses) by a charter member will be investigated similarly to article IV, above, as will any breach of the ideals espoused in the charter's header.

VI. Charter members are requested to cooperate with law enforcement and governmental forces whenever possible, with the exception of cooperation that would lead to the arrest of fellow charter members or oneself due to breaches of the anti-vigilante laws, whether by revealing hidden identities or other means. Chairman's Note: It is hoped that the latter portion of this article may be altered once the Safe Streets Act is passed.

VII. Conflicts between charter members, if unable to be worked out amicably between them, can be brought before the chairman for adjudication at any time.

VIII. Charter members are expected to lend assistance to one another in all activities encouraged by the organization's core ideals, if such assistance can reasonably be expected and given.

F.A.M.E. Communal Center

The communal 'headquarters' for the Fellowship Alliance for Metahuman Equity seems to be, from the outside, just an ordinary storage warehouse amongst a bunch of others; in actuality it's a lot more than that, serving as a training center and the core of the organization's communications, as well as a place for members to stay for awhile if they need to lay low, or if their homes get demolished in an incident of some sort.

  • The walls are concrete and brick, coated on the inside with a thin layer of rubber to hopefully prevent accidents during training; it'd take a concentrated effort to break through them. The building is windowless, and the entrances all protected by a numeric code lock and hidden security cameras.
  • The main gymnasium area has been set up for training of all sorts; weight machines and free weights (that go up to a few tons!), treadmills, gymnasics bars and acrobatic wires, punching bags and more. A sizable area is set aside for hand to hand and other combat training as well. The heated pool on the far side of the main floor goes from a shallow four feet to a respectable twelve at the end, and there's a hot tub beside it for relaxation post-workout.
  • Upstairs, a central living area with couches and a kitchenette is surrounded by living suites - simple one room, one bathroom affairs, furnished sparsely but comfortably. In times of need, the center can accomodate ten people comfortably for any length of time - more if they're willing to double up or otherwise be crammed into close quarters.
  • Past the living area upstairs is the nerve center of F.A.M.E. - the computer servers and equipment that make up the secure 'shadow network' of FAMENet, the heavily encrypted radio communications system (although, naturally, the satellite disks and tower itself are on the roof, relatively unobtrusive), and other technical equipment. The security for the radio and computer communications is heavy, having been set up by some of the finest metahuman minds in Port Liberty.
  • The lower floor, accessed via a hydraulic lift, has been set aside for medical purposes; rows of beds and monitors closest to the entrance, while other rooms include an operating room and various high-tech equipment that can satisfy most possible needs of the metahuman members of the Alliance.
  • The power system is a hyperdense battery charged by randomly leeching off the city grid during off-peak hours, solar power, temperature gradiant changes, and the wind hitting the building. Fully charged, it'll hold it's charge for several decades without appreciable loss and be able to run the communal center at full readiness for about six months.
