Alacrity is a recent hero to enter the scene in Port Liberty. Very little is known about the hero, though there are plenty of rumors circulating about his actions throughout the world. He has been involved in a variety of altercations with metahuman criminals, and has aided the police many times, developing a strong following among those he's aided.

However, not all is well and good. For some reason, the chief editor of the Port Liberty Chronicle has taken a marked dislike to the vigilante, and has ran a series of stories on him. The stories, while all fact, portray him in the worst possible light and to the average person, police or civillian, he's no better than a criminal himself.

He's gotten used to getting shot at by the police. It's no fun.

Civillian Identity

Alacrity's identity is Jaime Mendez, a young man who lived many years in the poorest neighborhoods of Port Liberty, trying to support his sister, Elena. Jaime was taken under the wing of a rather talented burglar named Donald 'The Hawk' Hawkins, and his career was set from that point in time, robbing various installations that could afford the loss in order to support himself and his sister. Jaime focused on mob businesses, which caused some trouble now and then when they tried to find out who was hitting their operations.

When Hawkins died, Jaime continued upon his path, until the time when his powers began to develop--ironically when he was nearly captured by the police and suddenly ended up in South America. It was at this point that Jaime had a choice. Would he simply ignore these powers he was given, or would he use them for a purpose?

Jaime knew the answer to that. And so Alacrity was born.

Character Notes

Feel free to have police be less than fond of Alacrity--he's used to getting shot at by the police as they assume he's up to no good. As for the public, Alacrity is slowly making a name for himself, but it's in a Spider-Man way thanks to the ill favor of the newspaper. This means that the average common man might think he's the coolest thing ever or find him frightening, it's really up in the air.
